Accountant, Auditor and General Controller

Sir, within 2- 5 years, I have worked in various facets in accounting, administration, consultancy and training at the University College of Technology Buea in the Directorate of Academic Affairs and in the Accounts Office as interim Chief Accountant in charge of budgetary control, Internal Control, Operations/Project Consultancy and project development. I have equally worked in teams in private business/financial consultancy with clients like AGASINGU & Associates, Cameroon, and groups like IROKO Advertising Agency, Cameroon, as Internal Auditor and Accounting Process Supervisor. I overcame challenges of time constraints and technical analysis during field work at the American Electricity Supply–SONEL company, field research at Cameroon Development Corporation (CDC), and in the Accounting procedure supervision at Cameroon Tea Estates (CTE) - as industrial intern. With such extensive industrial exposure, I have had to make critical decisions on debt recovery, payroll management, debt servicing, marketing conflict resolution and human resource motivation to meet targets of desired performance, managing some 120 students and 19-25 teaching and permanent staff at the university. Though not easy, I have had to use human psychology and intuition to bring out the best in those I led. I strongly believe such efforts would be an appreciable asset to complement your efforts, just in time to capture competitive opportunities in various business settings. I can assure you.

I possess excellent communication (analytical writing, conversational/listening, presentation) in English and I am very good in French. I equally possess IT skills in MS EXCEL and other MS Office programs. I can work with Quick Books Pro, Peachtree, SimplyAccounting, AppShare, PeopleSoft Pro, Sybel V8, Payroll Manager and other accounting packages given the opportunity to analyze the systems.

I hold a bachelor’s second-class honors degree in Accountancy, with a minor in Computer Science from the state University of Buea (UB), Cameroon, where I was Secretary General of the University of Buea Accounting Association (UBAA) for a year, having to manage over 250 members’ records, organizing seminars, workshops and conferences for students and others. I then proceeded to obtain a Post Graduate Diploma (PGD) in Accounting/Financial Information Systems at the University College of Technology (UCT) Buea, with first class honors.
