Currently a Senior Planning Officer/Manager for the fire service. I am in charge of the Terrorism and Contingency Planning Team My duties involve the development of internal and external resilience measures in the event of service interruptions. I have a staff team of fourteen who I am in charge of. II am responsible for a number of work streams including the implementation of the USAR capability, the Business Continuity Plan and the special projects work streams that include our CBRN and anti terrorism work, influenza pandemic planning and advisor to the Chief Fire Officers Association. Develop COMAH and CCA training and awareness.
I have worked on both a full and part time basis. Initially as a technician, providing a specialist decontamination service to Police Authorities, The Prison Service and NHS Trusts nationwide, and latterly as a director responsible for recruitment, training and management of technicians, operation of the payroll and completion of PAYE returns, compliance with Health & Safety and employment legislation.
PRP Resources LTD specializes in dealing with problematic children who are in care. One of the tasks involved is identifying hazards to the workers through risk assessment and preparing for the planning of implementation in order to keep the service operating in times of adversity. My role has been to develop training for key personal, proactive systems of support 24 hours a day 7 days a week 365 days a year.
Closely tied in with this has been the delivery of BCM training to Lewisham Borough Council in a BCM awareness work shop on a consultancy basis.
This was carried out with another consultant and was devised as an introduction to the BCM cycle and highlighted the stakeholders analysis and informed them on there key roles in order to facilitate resilience in there own departments.
This was carried out on the 05/07/2005 and two days later the terrorist attacks enforced the requirement for the BCM systems in there departments.
