Safety Officer with Materials & Logistics Coordination experience

to apply my knowledge as a safety officer or any post and improve myself through experience and training and hard work

I am a Canadian citizen currently residing in Miri, Sarawak and in Brunei. I was holding a dependant pass when I was in Brunei as I attended my academic year and have been here for almost 15 years. I have achieved my A’level qualifications in Jerudong International School Brunei and was working for a construction company, Haji Adinin & Sons (B) Sdn. Bhd Contracts & Construction Division for two years.

During my employment with the company I was able to follow and experience various work agendas such as; Coordinating Materials and Manpower required by Project Engineers to specific sites; Liaising with Purchasing Department from Main office, Project Engineers and Suppliers for purchase and transportation of Materials; Sourcing of Materials from Store and Suppliers; Checking Maintenance of Machinery and Vehicles; Co-ordination of Laborers to site; Updating stock and availability of materials and machinery within Main Store; Prepare and take care of Drivers log sheets; Prepare Monthly Maintenance Expenses report; Raising ‘Material requisition’ and completing ‘Good Received Notes’ to file and complete report for Accounts Department; Co-ordinate and Communicate with Drivers via ‘walkie talkie’; Filing of ‘Material Requisition Forms’, ‘goods Received notes forms’ and ‘Maintenance forms’; Assist in any site matters and attend meetings for all projects.
Apart from this I have worked as a trainee safety officer for a number of months with Malaco Chemicals Sdn. Bhd. Brunei in 2006. Responsibilities were to learn and apply following rules and regulations from customers and clients. Frequent inspections were made at warehouse and deliveries of chemicals in order to follow set safety rules and regulations. Trained on how to investigate and report ‘near misses’ and accidents if they were to occur.

Basic Offshore Safety Induction & Emergency Training Including Travel Safely by Boat course (OPITO Approved). Modules covered included Helicopter Underwater Escape Training (HUET) including EBS, Sea Survival, Fire Fighting & Self Rescue, First Aid & Hypothermia and Boat Transfer. Valid from 31st May 2006 – 30th May 2010.
Possess valid medical certificates approved for offshore work. Valid until 25th May 2009.

Successfully obtained NEBOSH International General Certificate in Occupational Safety and Health Course with a PASS grade.
