• Materials of industry, including iron and steel, nonferrous metals, plastics, and ceramics, from the standpoint of properties and applications. Include materials classifications, mechanical and physical properties, metallurgy, and heat treating.
• The advanced machine tool techniques and applications such as mills, lathes, surface grinders, and the detailed coverage of machine speeds, feds, and cutter materials.
• The field of computer numerical control (CNC) of machine tools.
• Automation safety, end- of- arm tooling, power systems of electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic, and the control methods of robots.
• Stress, strain and deflection calculation, shaft, centroids and moment of inertia, beam, and columns, and combined stress. The investigation of existing load carrying members. Consideration is given to economy of weight and cost.
• Applications that is related to geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) . Emphasis on how GD&T is utilized by inspection departments.
• AUTO- CAD and CAD-CAM applications.
