Al-Furat Petroleum Company (AFPC) / Shell, Syria.
June-2000 to present
Asset Management; Inspection Department (covering all AFPC / Shell oil and gas fields in Syria) .
Duties include inspection and maintenance of oilfield equipment and plant, including five Central Processing Facilities, thirty-four Field / Pumping Stations, a Collected Water Processing / Reinjection Plant, one Gas Processing Plant one Power Station and multiple Standy Power Production Units.
These facilities added up to approximately 1350 pressure and atmospheric columns, vessels, exchangers and tanks, the majority with associated prv’s, 1800 kms of main pipeline, 2800 kms of secondary / feeder flow lines and oil / gas transfer lines from 300 wells.
Responsible for detailing vessel service condition and advising on serviceability, repair or decommissioning.
Methods and re-instatement procedures in accordance with the relevant codes of practice, including:
API-653; Storage tanks inspection and repair.
API 510; Pressure vessel inspection and repair.
API 570; Piping systems inspection and repair.
Maintaining and developing vessel information, inspection database scheduling, inspection requirements and recording vessel histories.
Directly involved with progressing the RBI (risk based inspection) programs.
Undertaking management of comprehensive on-stream, ultrasonic corrosion surveys of vessels.
Calculating redundancy and inspection frequencies.
Using computer programs to calculate MAOP and Minimum Allowable Wall Thickness of Vessels and pipelines in accordance with ASME V111 API-510, API-570, ANSI B.31.3, B31.4, B31.8, B31.G
Producing technical reports for engineering reference.
