Assistant Operations Room Supervisor
I am responsible for ensuring that all personnel (2-3) are manning their equipment correctly. This would include making sure all their duties are performed diligently and efficiently. I would check that all settings on equipment are correct. I am responsible for all sonar detection analysis. Another duty would be safe surface navigation and that correct radar watch is being done. I would ensure correct and efficient safety procedures are being followed and good housekeeping duties are performed.

I am responsible for the overseeing of all mechanical and electrical work being carried out onboard, as well as the correct and safe running of all electrical and mechanical equipment/systems.
Duty technician
I am in charge of watertight integrity, safety and firefighting duties, including supervision of duty damage control personnel. My duties also include listing and trimming the submarine by means of water movements and ballast control according to engineer's orders. I would also have to check battery levels, by the use of a hydrometer and battery log computer to ensure even supply of electricity throughout the submarine. Furthermore I also perform technical morning routines which include the changing of converters, bilge pumps, refrigeration, technical safety rounds, filling out technical logbooks. I would be responsible to prepare the submarine to go to sea, i.e.: changing over of electrical supply from shore to ship, starting of pre-heating pumps for diesel engines, switching on of GPS and INS (Inertial Navigation System)
