Details of Work Experience ¡V
(Starting with current assignment)
1. My current designation in BPCL is Senior Manager (Contracts) and since last 5 years my responsibilities include lining up of contracts for Projects, Maintenance and other departments in Refinery in the most cost effective manner and as per Project requirements. During this period handled major contracts involving International and Indian bidders.
2. For 2 years period ending June 2002, I was on deputation to Kuwait National Petroleum Company, Kuwait through a Govt of India institute (PII). I was member of PMC team handling project controls. My assignment mainly related to Project planning and scheduling, develop progress measurement procedures, preparation of reports, processing of contractors invoices based on review of progress, preparation of budgets, cost control reports, processing of changes orders and contract amendment, prepare relevant sections of contract document and review of contractual disputes. It may be noted as per their prevailing system, Project planning activity and contracts management were overlapping and hence could get exposure to both functions in LSTK environment.
3. Worked in Major Projects Dept. of Refinery for 12 years after completion of one year training period as a Graduate Engg Trainee. During this long period I got opportunity to work on entire project cycle. Majority of the projects were implemented through Project Management Consultant (PMC) and conventional construction contracts, where as some project were implemented through EPC contracts. The project costs are varying between USD 10 Million to 100 Million and cycle time ranging from 12 Months to 30 Months.

Key Achievements ¡V
1. Member of Project Team that consistently achieved timely completion of the projects without cost overrun. Our team is especially proud of the revamp projects of existing units which called for extra efforts in view of the narrow shut-down schedules of existing units and safety and operational issues related to such projects.
2. I was a member of task force formed to achieve ISO 9002 certification for Quality Management System of Refinery. Our team achieved ISO certification for Refinery as per Management plan. I was a qualified lead auditor and worked regularly as an internal auditor.
3. As Contracts Manager, processed complex high value contracts expeditiously to meet project schedule and at the same time maintaining conformance to company guidelines. Administration of contract in the post award stage is also handled professionally so that there are no disputes or arbitration.
4. The assignment on deputation at KNPC, Kuwait called for working in multicultural environment and handling projects through international EPC contractors. The work was offered certain unique challenges. Achievements of our task force were highly appreciated by KNPC senior staff.
