Principal Geotechnical Engineer / Project Manager

geotechnical engineering both on and offshore is a very important phase of all projects in oil and gas industry. This job is essential for all proper structural designs.

project manager of variety of projects both as consultant and specialist contractor including:

1- on-shore and off-shore investigation (both on jack-up and pontoon barge)
2- geotechnical report preparation as well as analysing field and laboratory tests
3- design and performance of real scale plate / RC pad bearing tests and pile loading tests.
4- design ,performance and project management of various soil improvement techniques and other activities (as items 5* to 12*)
*: for the first time in iran
5*- dynamic compaction
6*- stone columns (vibro compaction / replacement) and dynamic replacement 1
7*- preloading with and without PVD
8*- jet grouting (both as underpinning and cut-off elements) 1
9*- deep soil mixing (both as underpinning and cut-off elements) 1
10*- diaphragm wall design and construction, Cut-off wall construction as well as plastic concrete and cement-bentonite mix design
11*- asphalt concrete core of dams 1
12*- design and performance of precast driven concrete piles

At peresent the main activities are focused on geotechnical Investigation, design and performance of ground improvement techniques, as well as the construction of dam cut off elements.

- authorized geotechnical consultant, licensed by mpo,grade 1,id no. 164.

- author and researcher of the “iranian standard for standard penetration test (spt)”. mpo publication no. 224.

- author and researcher of the “iranian standard for cone penetration test (cpt) ”. under publication process by mpo.

-translator of the book: "dam foundation gGrouting" to persian for "dam and reservoir sealing sub-committee of ircold (iranian committee on large dams- affiliated to icold.

- co-author of the paper “mitigation of liquefaction hazard by dynamic compaction: abbas majdi, alireza sharifi soltani and siavash litkouhi”, "journal of ground improvement, thomas thelford, vol. 11, issue 3, cover date july 2007, pp 137-143.

- co-author of the paper “dynamic compaction to mitigate the liquefaction potential for caspian sea repuplics oil swap project at neka, mazandaran province, iran: a. majdi, a. sharifi and s. litkouhi ”. (highly commendable paper award received). presented in the “5th international conference on ground improvement techniques, 22-23 march 2004, kuala lumpur, malaysia”.

- member of the supervisory committee for preparation of “handbook of dam foundation improvement criteria ”, prepared by tehran university, faculty of civil and geotechnical engineering, following the contract signed with “ran water resources management co.” affiliated to ministry of energy.
