Professional Experience
Working as an Inspection Engineer within a specialised Inspection company. My job role has given me the chance to work alongside specialist operators working with equipment such as TOFD, PHASED ARRAY & other advanced ultrasonic techniques, where I am given the chance to gain vital experience using this equipment on a day to day basis carrying out inspections on & offshore within the oil & gas industry.
Working as an NDT Technician I have gained vast experience working with various personnel carrying out GVI, MT, PT & USTM inspections. I also have experience working as a RI assist & have been given an introduction into the safe working practices of working with radiation & the equipment used. These inspections often require the use of rope access working at various heights internal & external on vessel entries, pipe racks & other confined spaces. I have experience working with equipment such as the Panametrics 36DL thickness gauge, Krautkramer USK Flaw Detector, Epoch III., 110 volt Y6 yoke & other various pieces of NDT equipment. This position has given me the chance to work on projects such as offshore installations & oil & gas refineries.
Working as a scanner technician my duties involve the correct and safe handling use of the scanner. Carrying out maintenance on the drive bands, sanding wedges, setting carbides, identify probe parts, assemble probe blocks & identify tool sizes. Taking all relevant information from the AUT operator to carry out the inspection of pipeline welds ranging from 2” OD to 56” OD correctly, safely & efficiently.

Inspecting machined leg connectors for the construction of oil platforms using a wide range of coils, 110 volt yoke & the safe working practices of working with a 440 AC generator ,bench unit, prods & cables. I have also been given an introduction into the use of UT and a selection of probes, their uses and where best used.
