Instrument/Operations technician

Working as an Operations Technician within a Multi-skilled British Gas Production Team where my duties consist of the following.

Shift Lead Instrument Tech - Working on breakdown and planned maintenance routines on all platform Process, Utility and Safety Critical Instrumentation. DCS & ABB Systems. Planning and prep of future work scopes. Preparing work packs/work scopes for contractors/vendors and specialist parties. Planning & Commissioning new project work.

Production Operator – Carrying out daily production tasks including process system checks / sampling / chemical decanting / vessel line outs / mechanical isolations. Process & mechanical isolations for systems shutdown & start up procedures. Wellhead panel operation, plant start up & shutdown, Gas, Condensate, Glycol, Water & Air.

Area Authority – During Shutdown and planned maintenance / Construction and redevelopment processes. Duties including sampling, gas monitoring, permit to work signatory.

In addition to these duties I also form part of the incident response team/incident control room personnel during platform incidents and drills.
