RIL is the largest Oil & Gas acreage holder among the Private sector companies in India with 34 domestic exploration blocks covering an area of about 331,000 sq. km. This is in addition to its interest in one exploration block each in Yemen and Oman. RIL also has 5 coal bed methane (CBM) blocks covering an area of about 4,000 sq. km.
I am responsible for all procurement & contracting activities, including Warehousing and related services, for both CBM and Oil & Gas projects at Ahmedabad. On land exploratory drilling is being undertaken by RIL for the first time from its Ahmedabad office. The campaign includes hiring of all kinds of services viz. Drilling, Cementing, Mud Logging, Electrologging, Mud Engineering, Completion Fluids, Liner Hanger, Slick Line BHS, Civil works for Site preparation, Work over Rig, Mobile test Separator, Oil Tanker, Air Compressor, Coring, Transportation & Material Handling, Nitrogen Pumping, Acidization, etc. etc. It also includes procurement of various items like Casings, Tubings, Well Heads & X-Mas Trees, Down Hole Tools, Drilling Bits, Oil Well Cement, Casing Accessories, etc.

POSITION:Supply Chain Management (SCM) Officer
Worked on secondment with BP for its ‘Nam Con Son Offshore Gas Project’ in Vietnam, deputed by ONGC Videsh Ltd (OVL) as ‘Single Point of Contact (SPC)’ and responsible for coordination & procurement activities for 2-year operating spares for the Platform, using “MAXIMO” software. The vast majority of these spare parts were urgent & critical to the successful completion of construction and operations start-up. This procurement activity was carried out under intense pressure and within an unusually short time frame. Even with all constraints, achieved procurement cost reductions in excess of US$ 150,000.

Import purchase of goods & charter hiring of services for ‘Gandhar field development project’ under Asian Development Bank (ADB) funding and for ‘Cambay Basin Petroleum Project’ (CBPP) and ‘Western Gas Development Project’ (WGDP) under World Bank funding.
