1. Pre-Processing, Segmentation and Classification of Multi-spectral Satellite Images (ongoing M.Sc Project)

2. Finite Difference Modeling (of 2nd order) for acoustic wave equation, for Gas Hydrates Exploration (ongoing project)

Description:To resolve the free gas present below Bottom Simulating Reflector.

3. The Study of Gas Hydrates bearing Sediments of Krishna-Godawari Basin of India and an overview of Mallik Gas Hydrates region; using well logging Interpretation Techniques.

Guide: Mr. Malcom V Lal, Head of NGHP & Dr. I Dutta Head of Well Logging; Directorate General of Hydrocarbon (DGH)
Description:Correlation of K, Th and U concentrations using HNGS tool data for KG Basin and to quantify Gas Hydrates present in Malik wells by using different logging tools. (Selected by DGH for Summer Internship from 15th June to 16th July, 2007)

4. Estimates of Gas Hydrates Potential in Kerela-Konkan Basin: Inferences from Geology

Guide: Dr. Kalachand Sain, Scientist E-II & Dr. N.K Thakur, Emeritus Scientist; National Geophysical Research Institute.
Description: Seismic data processing using Focus software (targeting the top layers within 500 meters depth) and it’s Interpretation. (Selected for Summer Internship by NGRI from 10th May to 13th June, 2007).

5. Correlation and Interpretation of Satellite derived MODIS Water Vapor with GPS Water Vapor

Guide: Professor Ramesh P Singh, Dept. Civil Engineering, IIT Kanpur.
Description:Processing of MODIS and GPS data and their correlation. (Selected for Summer Internship by IIT Kanpur from 10th May to 15th July, 2006).


Industrial Training:- Selected from the department for Industrial Training (2 weeks in June 2007) in Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) Chennai, India. In it, I had undergone a field training in the Bengal basin of India on 3-D Seismic Data Acquisition and the Processing of it in Chennai.

Graduation: 5-Years (July, 2003 to present) Integrated Masters of Science (Honours) in Applied Geology, Department of Geology and Geophysics, Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur, with a current CGPA: 7.01/10 (after 9 semesters).

2.Selected from my school, in standard 10th, to Participate in “MATHWORKX -2K” A Workshop on Mathematics Organized and Sponsored by the Department Of Mathematics, Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur on the occasion of World Mathematics Year 2000, during 15th -16th July,2000.

Extra Curricular Activities :-

1.Student Member of the Society of Exploration Geophysicist (SEG) & American Association of Petroleum Geologist (AAPG).
2.Branch Representative to the Training and Placement section of IIT Kharagpur, 06-07.
3.I was appointed as the Head during the Joda field work 2006, where I managed a team of 30 students.
4.Social and Cultural Secretary of Earth Science Study Circle (ESSC), 05-06 in the Department of Geology and Geophysics, IIT Kharagpur.
Was awarded, in a musical competition for playing Hawaiian guitar. (I was among the top 3 participants)
5.Regular player in the following sports: Football, Tennis and Cricket.
