Professional Experience
Internship
Organization: Honeywell Period: May-July 2007
Intern at Aero-Mechanical (structures) department of Honeywell Technology Solutions Lab, Bangalore, INDIA. Worked on the life prediction of turbocharger housing under cyclic thermal loading. The focus was on the maximization of life-strength and minimization of cost-weight and to determine best material to manufacture turbocharger housing and also to predict, when that component need to be replaced. I worked on modeling different types of fatigue cracks in 3D complex geometry of turbocharger housing and the process of automating the crack propagation under thermal fatigue. Formulated and tested several algorithms for determination of crack propagation angles and thus crack propagation path in different geometries using APDL language in ANSYS. Life prediction makes present aviation industry more reliable and safe. Optimization process results in increasing life of components saving millions of dollars in long run.

Additional Information
Key Academic Projects taken-
• CFD analysis of control of vortex shedding in flow past a bluff body by imposing Magnetic fields. Analysis done focuses on a solution to the major problem of structural vibrations found in Nuclear Reactor Heat Exchanger Design. This is the topic of my B.Tech dissertation. Implementation in heat exchangers of nuclear reactors is envisaged. (July 2006 to date).
Short Term Projects-
• Healing of Ozone Layer: An analysis of current trends of CFC consumption to predict the future of Ozone hole
• Supersonic Wind Tunnel Evaluation: Lab project to evaluate supersonic tunnel characteristics
• Shear Centre of open beam sections: Developed separate codes in MATLAB and C language to determine Shear Centre of open beam sections
