• Performs routine rounds taking information and checking the units to make sure all is safe.Checking pumps and motors for vibrations and uncommon noises. On my rounds, checking on any maintenance work that is going on and making sure all that are working in the process area are in their proper PPE and working according to plant safety policies.
• Work with engeneering and upper management to optimize the process and make suggestions for expansion. Make suggestions for preventive maintenance programs or set up a program of my own.
. Working with other opeators in a professional manner and on their level, make suggestions to them for better work ethics or a safer way to perform their work and take suggestions from them.
. Respond to emergencies as needed as incident commander, fire fighter or unit shut down coordinator. Able to respond to medical emergencies as needed (first aid trained)
. Perform management of change documentation, Procedure writting, LOTO, HOTWORK PERMITS, SAFE WORK PERMITS, CONFINED SPACE PERMITS, Hot tap permits, Perform safety checks and incident investigation, maintain safety records and training records of operations employees. Set goals to train operators to perform their normal duties safely and timely, then trained them to the next level of their next scheduled move up.
. As shift supervisor I look at the over all picture make sure there are no pressing emergencies in the plant and make schedule rounds checking all processes and talking to the employees about any problems they may be experiencing in their units.

. Over 28 plus years in refinery experience, During turn arounds I have worked as boilermaker, pulling bundles, cleaning bundles and pulling heads on process tower for inspection, pulling internals and trays.
Worked in crude,reformer,hydrobon,unifiner,HDS, Cat Cracker and HF alky units as Safety/coordinator in charge of work going on and take care of any safety issues that come up. Do all tailgate safety talks and refresh employees on any possible problems or exposures (what to look for and how to treat ) to HF and other chemicals.Make sure my work scope is completed on a timely schedule.
