Professional Experience
Since joining Exxon Chemical Pakistan Limited in 1986, my career has grown with the country's foremost fertilizer company, now known as Engro. Learning continuously in a dynamic, excellence-driven work culture, I have had the privilege of being recognized through fast track promotions and the company's highest performance award twice.
Beginning in Sales & Marketing, where my contribution to an expanding nation-wide distribution, warehousing and transportation network was recognized by a MAX award, I became regional head in record time. I was promoted to head the Public Affairs section at Daharki, and subsequently became head of corporate affairs at Head Office, from where I returned to Daharki with an even greater responsibility to support Engro’s largest investment of more tan one Billion US dollars to set-up world’s largest Urea Fertilizer Manufacturing plant.
My current position as head of Administration and Public Affairs at Engro's flagship facility in Daharki involves day to day decision-making within the plant along with CSR initiatives. In addition to my well-rounded exposure to administration, public affairs, marketing, sales, distribution, fertilizer imports, port handling, transportation and storage, I have taken time to build professional credentials beyond my Engineering degree, earning an MA in Economics and topping my Executive MBA.
My most rewarding time at Engro has been using my well-developed inter-personal skills and goal-orientedness to build relationships with key stakeholders that have helped boost not only the company's bottom-line but also its corporate image. I am particularly proud of coordinating the process of launching the company's first ever CSR report, recognized within and outside Pakistan, and implementing a novel telemedicine program that won the Asian CSR Award in 2007. Among the various social investment initiatives I have spearheaded in the fields of health, education and infrastructure development for Engro, I derive personal satisfaction from organizing the company's first-ever direct volunteer effort, where 40 staff worked to build 100 earthquake-proof houses in Battal, Azad Kashmir.
