jan/2005 – to date, qatar fertilizer company (qafco)senior civil project engineer
as a team member i have been involved in a project for the development of al-banush club (qafco club) in the idea, engineering, specifications and procurement stage. the club comprises of sports complex, multipurpose halls and club house. the built area is of about 6,000 sm. structural systems are concrete (up to 20 m span beams) and steel structures (36 m span trusses and gables). the project is estimated to cost us $ 16 million.
as a team member i had been involved in the execution of a urea-2 plant revamping project (idea, engineering, procurement and erection. the project is mainly for the replacement of high pressure equipment in the plant with major modifications for the existing structures and provision of new adjacent structures to carry equipment of more than 700 tons loads at elevations vary form 18 m to 57 m level. the project is estimated to cost us $ 20 million.
as lead civil engineer for a new melamine plant and revamping of an existing urea-1 plant and, i have coordinated the geo-technical investigations and topographical survey works. also i have contributed in the preparation of the general requirements and specifications for buildings, civil design, concrete works, structural steel works, and in the processing of budgetary enquiries. also i have had the full contribution on the civil/ structural discipline for the firm enquiries/ bidding evaluations and clarification, preparation of contracts up to the signing stage for the three main contracts (ep for melamine- ep for urea-1 revamp and cc (construction commissioning) for both plants. the project cost was us$ 312 millions. (split contracts).
as a team member for 200 ton/hour new auxiliary boiler for q3 plant. i have contributed in preparation/ reviewing for the engineering package and also i am contributing now in the preparation of construction and tendering packages. expected cost of the project was qr 35 million. (boiler + stack + motors + pipe racks and access platforms. supported on piles/pile caps and raft foundations.
as a team member for medium pressure co2 compressor project. i have contributed in preparation/ reviewing for the engineering package and also i am contributing now in the preparation of construction and tendering packages. cost of the project was qr 30 million.
