Major Duties & Responsibilities :
A- Drives an Embassy vehicle to make routine security inspections to locations covered by the Embassy Local Guard Force, where official mission facilities are located, on an hourly basis utilizing the "Deister" Electronic Monitoring System . Ensure that all Embassy guard force personnel assigned to static posts are in proper attire and properly performing their guard duties and functions as set forth in the specific Guard Orders. Takes immediate corrective measures to rectify violations of general and specific guard orders and reports to the responsible area operation officer any infractions within his shift. Monitors radio traffic and work in close conjunction with the security dispatcher, mobile patrol officers and guards post to ensure a clear and updated line of communication is maintained.
B- Conducts preliminary area and route analysis of his designated area of responsibility. Identifies and makes oral and/or written reports of findings of possible surveillance operations on USG facilities, employees, family members, and residences. Works with detailed planning coordination and provides briefings regarding patrols and deployments at the beginning, during and end of the shift.
C- Inspects and maintains records on all assigned Embassy vehicles. Inspects specialized security equipment issued to guard on shift to ensure appropriate working condition. Reports any equipment that is damaged or need of repair.
D- Provide instant assistance and responds to vehicle accidents and other security-related incidents involving members of the official and non-official community. Is prepared to deal with Local Police, other host government authorities, and/or Mission employees.
E- Ensures the maintenance of attack recognition procedures, and ensures a readiness to implement emergency response procedures in order to safeguard life and property in the event of a crisis.
F- Provides security assistance during Embassy's special events and visits as set forth by the Diplomatic Security Service.
