„X The mechanism of award of PEL and ML in the country is quite complex. The award of PEL and ML is normally made by the national government for a limited tenure, with further requirement that concurrence of the provincial governments be obtained towards ratify the award. Therefore, close liaison has to be maintained with the provincial authorities to ensure that the production data are reported in time for computation of Cess / Royalty and the PEL / ML do not expire.
„X Given the fact that the company has good number of PEL and ML under its operation, with about 1000 wells under production including a production sharing contract in one block, itˇ¦s a daunting challenge to keep the database updated and generate reports for senior management and statutory authorities.
