• Led business development for a strategic project in India (achieved revenues of $64M over 2 years), that achieved significant market penetration for my company into a market monopolised by a competitor. I was one of two managers recruited specifically to develop the bid, with direct reporting to the CEO.
• Analysed and developed (mostly in French) an opportunity with the national oil company of Algeria. Grew the successful bid into a major exploration drilling program in a remote area of Sahara, on time and on budget. This opportunity is now a fully operational project delivering 24 wells per year to the client and $30M revenue per year to the company.
• Led a team of country and sales managers in Dubai to respond to a $120M Invitation To Tender from a major international oil company in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Under a very tight time-frame that included Ramadan, Christmas and death of the crown prince, I led the team to submit a competitive, timely and compliant bid.
• Assigned as the single point contact for a development contract with a major multinational oil company in Nigeria. Developed strong relationships with key technical and commercial client personnel that resulted in a number of additional sales opportunities for my company.
• On my own initiative, I successfully reduced Day Sales Outstanding (DSO) from >200 days to 74 days on the above project that was causing significant cash flow problems for my company. By addressing key cultural and procedural blockers, I worked with the client to reach commercially acceptable solutions. By the time I closed the project, it was the fastest paying client for my company in Nigeria.
