Coating & Insulation Inspector

Able to handle Supervision & Inspection activities of Painting/Coatings, Insulation, Fireproofing and Refractory lining works as per standards and quality plan.

* To identify initial condition of steel (Rust grade A, B, C & D) as per ISO / SSPC.
*To conduct test & qualification of Abrasive Blasters & Spray Painters.
* To give instruction about pre-cleaning of surface for removal of heavy deposits like oil, grease, cutting compound, dirt etc.
* To conduct salt contamination test after abrasive blasting.
* To monitoring ambient conditions like surface temperature, relative humidity, dew point etc.
* To plan resource deployment based on job like size of air compressor, hose size, nozzle size, blasting abrasive size and quantity, paint quantity, spray equipment etc.
* Inspection of cleaned surface with visual standards (ISO 8501-1).
* To guide spray painter for getting correct paint thickness (DFT) and defects free painted surface.
* To use all inspection tools like profile gauge, testex tape, whirling hygrometer, steel temperature Gauge, WFT gauge, DFT gauge, adhesion tester, holiday detector etc.
* To ensure that paint used is same as suggested.
* To make sure that paint mixed, thinned, applied as per paint data sheet.
* To make Estimation of paints requirement, Generating of painting reports as per painting specification *To carry out Inspection of Fire proofing, cold insulation, hot insulation, acoustic insulation & cladding.
*To carry out Inspection of Galvanizing, Heat shrink sleeves, Coating wrappings and Refractory lining works.

• Passed Bachelor degree in 1993 from Mumbai University.
