PP Expansion Process Supervisor - Saudi Polyolefins Co., Jubail, KSA.
Process supervisory responsibility as member of integrated Client-EPC project team. Licensor for Polypropylene (PP) is Novolen Technology (subsidiary of Lummus).
• As client supervisor in EPC office with reporting direct to senior management, fully responsible for the development, review, final decision and approval on process and project issues for a complex 450 to 720 kTA PP expansion and re-rate project.
Estimated TIC for PP expansion is 211 M$
Total Number of New Equipment is 180, 50 items to be deleted and 25 to be modified to meet the new capacity.
• Key value engineering contribution was through integration of ethylene rich process stream with Cracker facility during development of Process Design Package (PDP). Estimated savings - 3.0 M$.
• Successfully led the feasibility study of PP Expansion from 450 to 800 kTA including techno-commercial scope definition and negotiations for PDP.
• Successfully led from design of P&ID to commissioing of a 4.0 MSR Coalescer project for removal of oil from propylene rich stream. Payback was less than 6 months.
• Responsible for fulfilling and conducting ‘Guarantee Test Run’ as per Test Run Protocol. Led the efforts in resolving all issues post performance ‘Test Run’.

Area engineer for two gas-phase fluidized bed Unipol’s Polyethylene plants, Reaction and Catalyst Unit. Specific expertise includes trouble-shooting, cost reduction and de-bottlenecking.
• Through 36 technical reports, set-up of catalyst performance database and data analysis pursued continuous improvement in catalyst batches. Catalyst production increased 30% in 2003, and variations reduced by 32%.
