Professional Experience
Reporting to the Superintendant, Engineering Services of the
Technical Services Department, Directly Supervises three Inspection
Engineers and indirectly supervises two Senior Inspection
Technicians, and three Inspection Technicians.
- responsible for Developing Inspection Procedures and
implementing them
- scheduling and coordinating inspection of in-service equipment,
- planning and coordinating shutdown Inspection work
- preparing work lists for all the inspection related jobs
- maintaining all Inspection records, for equipment and piping
- establishing corrosion control methods and coordinate corrosion
monitoring activities
- reviewing and approving welding procedures, testing and
qualifying welders and approving welding consumables
- coordinating equipment requiring Statutory Inspection
- advicing on material selection for specific jobs
- approving coating materials and carrying out coating Inspection
work
- preparing training schedules for the local trainees in the
Inspection Section and implementing them
- composing and conducting training courses for local recruits in
Inspection and NDT methods.
- preparing and monitoring Inspection Section budget for capital
and expense items
- complying with the Quality Assurance requirements
- reviewing cathodic protection survey data and taking necessary
corrective action
- reviewing relief valve test schedules and coordinate testing
activities
- reviewing inhibitor injection reports and taking necessary action
- reviewing all NDT testing reports and coordinating action –
- reviewing the use of all Inspection management software
programmes to ensure optimum use
- providing technical advice as necessary to other sections,
- conducting and writing Failure Analysis reports
- ensuring all Inspection activities are carried out in the safest
manner adhering to the company health & safety procedures.
Eductation
National Diploma in Technology in Mechanical – Production Engineering from the University of Sri Lanka, Katubedda Campus, in 1972.

Additional Information
in 1992 was training Welding and Coating Inspectors subcontracted to Sarawak Shell Berhad in East Malaysia and Conducted a training course for Welding Inspectors achieving a 100 percent success rate in CSWIP 3.1 examination.
in 1991 worked as an offshore inspector for Mcdermott Internatuonal Inc. in Singapore and was involved in the inspection on offshore projects of Jackets
and Topsides fabrication and installation., including several submarine pipe-laying projects. Worked on several projects in East and West Malaysia and Thailand for clients, ESSO, Shell, Petronas and Unocal
