Chemist, Project Manager

I'm looking for a job where I could use my experience in Analytical chemistry, or in Project Management.

Analytical chemist, Academy of Science,2002-2008, CZ:
- optimization of separation methods (HPLC, GC); spectrometric, electrochemical and other analytical techniques
- determination and separation of various compounds
- work with biologicaly active compounds and biological samples in a cleanroom environment
- cooperation with medical and biological specialists on preparation and elaboration of scientific projects/grants
- verifying and statistical processing of project results
Project Officer - People in Need,02/2006-12/2006, Pakistan :
- responsibility for projects in the earthquake-effected area of Kashmir focused on WatSan projects, construction of schools, rubble clearance
- work in field, managing of project teams, dealing with local authorities as well as with other organisations – OXFAM, WHO, UNICEF etc.
- preparation of new projects, project processing, reporting
- responsible for €1,5mil budget from various donors

I am familiar with HPLC and GC separation methods; spectrometric, electrochemical and other analytical techniques. As analytical chemist I have experience with determination of various substances such as pollutants in water or biologically active compounds in biological samples.
I like technical problems solving ie. highly sophisticated instrumentation in analytical chemistry, or development of earthquake-proof design of schools for kashmir mountainous areas.
I have experience of working in a developing country with a multi-cultural enviroment, in the area of community development programming, mainly in a conflict and post conflict settings. During the development of mission in Pakistan I gained experience with establishing of processes such as transport and car policy, security of the mission, communication, reporting, accountancy, etc. As a programme officer I was responsible for keeping of the internal guidelines on the mission, tender procedures and finance management.
I also became familiar with the project cycle (project preparation, implementation and evaluation)
I was managing a team of 6 people.

I operate well on my own or in concert with others, and I am comfortable in remote locations or under difficult circumstances.
