Working as Wellsite Geologist/ Operations Geologist in Oil and Gas Development Company Ltd (OGDCL) Pakistan

Overall Purpose of the Job: ____________________________________________________________________
• Implement at wellsite geological programmes received from Exploration / Head office.
• Supervise Data Logging Unit and get the geological programme done by personnel of Mud Logging
and other services.
• Carry out periodical check of the accuracy of recorded/monitored parameters.
• Examine and describe cuttings, cores etc and submit Daily Geological / Mud Logging and other reports.
• Provide valid information timely to the drilling and mud professionals regarding any gain/ loss
of circulation, drilling breaks, variation in pump stroke/ pressure, or gas shows in the mud stream.
• Compile pertinent information with write-ups, computer out-puts, including test results to establish End
of Well Report.
• Select, decide and supervise, Wireline Logging, Coring etc.
• Ensure dispatch of Mud / Gas / Pressure profile results and copies of hydraulic reports in time.
• Supervise draft of End of Well Report for submission of Head Office for approval and distribution.
• Make timely dispatch of flushed cuttings and cores to G & R lab.

Principal Accountabilities: __________________________________________________________________
• Monitor the well during all well operations, wireline logging and directional drilling.
• Assist achieve the target depth of the well with efficient, economic and safe manner.
• Provide authentic information in time to the concerned professionals at wellsite / Head Office about any abnormality while drilling.
• Acquire various drilling and mud data through Data Acquisition System.
• Predict and monitor pore pressure and fracture gradient while drilling.
• Observe the hydrocarbon shows.
• Perform "Quick-Look" qualitative petrophysical analysis during drilling.
• Cut cores in the most promising intervals of the reservoir.
• Interpret / Prepare Well Mud Logs.
