Control and Instrument Engineer

Full project phases of engineering and development, together with construction support during installation and commissioning

•Prepare detail engineering documentation and specifications for Control Systems and Field Instrument requirements i.e. Instrument Data Sheets, Instrument Indexes, Loop Drawings, Design and Specify control loops and the logic connections and hardware through panels plus the philosophy for PLC / CCR software.
•Responsible for selecting of control systems and field Instruments.
•Design ESD and OSD safeguarding systems. Preparation of Cause & Effect diagrams and Safe charts.
•Detailed specification and selection of Relief valves.
•Vendor liaison-catalogue engineering and Liaison with Operations at Lead Instrument Engineer level.
•Implementation and commissioning of new projects.
•Prepare enquiry documents and generate purchase requisitions to vendors for supply of equipment and or services
•Ensure that local and foreign suppliers execute orders timeously and in accordance with requirements and specifications.
•Extensive start-up and commissioning assistance on several plants.
•Familiarity with API, NACE, Hazardous Area Classification.
•Maintenance and repair of Mainframe Computers, Distributed Control Systems (DCS), Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) and peripherals.
•Supervising and controlling activities performed by subordinates to ensure the timeous completion of tasks as allocated.
•Awareness of HAZOP, SIL (System Integrity Level) checks& Requirements plus Quantitative Risk assessment (QRA)
