Project Engineer, Petrochemical plant, MTBE (M) Sdn Bhd (a PETRONAS Subsidiary Company). Responsibilities:- Undertake Plant Modification / improvement projects. Nature of works involved includes engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning. Below are details of my work scopes / responsibilities:-

4.1) Engineering Design Phase
„« To identify end user requirement and transform into project objectives.
„« Establish project feasibility study report including project payback period calculation, to evaluate whether or not it is worth to invest in the project or not, or to come up with new alternative(s).
„« Prepare project cost estimates up to 30% accuracy.
„« Identify project critical paths activities, and reflect those in project schedule
„« Prepare project Gantt chart schedule, using Microsoft project software.
„« Maintain a database of all prices of equipment, materials, utilities rate, manpower rate and transportation rate, for the purpose of future project budgetary cost estimates.
„« Prepare the Engineering Design package for each project.
„« Establish contractorˇ¦s scope of work and supply for each project.
„« Establish piping tie-in check list
„« Identify and tag tie-ins at site
„« Work closely with Piping Designer in developing Piping Isometrics drawings
„« Review / check project piping isometrics drawings and M.T.O. (Material Take-Off)
„« Review / check project As-Built Document i.e. Piping Plan drawing, isometrics drawing, Equipment and mechanical datasheet.
„« Perform engineering design calculation, i.e. pressure vessel thickness, MAWP, Pump sizing, PSV sizing, based on applicable Engineering code and Standard and responsible for developing Purchase Equipment Datasheet.
„« Liaise directly with Process Design licensors i.e. UOP (Texas, USA), Kvaerner (UK), Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI, Japan) in resolving technical issues / queries in term of mechanical equipment design data conflicts and in equipment failure analysis.
„« Maintain Technical correspondences filing between, licensor, Contractor and owner.
„« Write project Invitation To Bid document, (I.T.B.) for EPCC, EPC, EPCM contracts.
„« Prepare weekly and monthly project progress report.
„« Develop project S-Curve Graph
