Position: IT Manager
I am responsible for the proper operation of Seven (7) Servers, Six (6) of which have Microsoft Windows 2003 server operating system, One (1) has IBM AS/400 operating system. 150 workstations with Microsoft Windows XP and 100 workstations with Microsoft Windows Vista. My work experiences are;
• Working knowledge of networking – Local Area Networking (LAN) and Wide Area Networking (WAN).
• Knowledge of Administration and Configuration of Microsoft Internet Security and Acceleration (MS-ISA) Server.
• Knowledge of Administration and Configuration of Microsoft Exchange Server - An Email Server.
• Installation, Maintenance, Upgrade & Repairs of PCs workstations and servers.
• Installation and Configuration of Media Converter (Conversion from Fibre Optic to Ethernet and vice versa.) Equipment.
• Knowledge of TCP/IP Network Technologies in both Ethernet and Token Ring Environment.
• Knowledge in the company’s Internet configurations/maintenance, Intranet mail support, users backup, Corporate Antivirus Installation and update.
• Knowledge in VLAN
• Knowledge of CiscoWorks LAN Management Solution.
• To ensure that the network/communication infrastructures are adequately protected against disasters and also equipping for disasters and implements recovery procedures.
• Network Layout Design, Trunking, and Cabling.
• Update Networking Installation Specifications and ensure conformance to these standards for any connection to the network.
• Design of Network Infrastructure to embrace new networking requirements and standards.
• Ensure effective Operational Support and Administration of network and data in a multi-Operating Systems environment (both Microsoft and AS/400 Operating Systems).
• Training of Staff on the latest information technology employed by the company.
On IBM AS/400 Systems Support.
• Installation & Configuration of AS/400 Client Access family for Win95/Winnt, on more than 130 PCs communicating with IBM AS/400 Server.
• AS/400 Systems Administration: Making sure of smooth running of AS/400 Systems by reducing the down-time.
• Configuration of TCP/IP Addresses to users through IBM AS/400 host table entries.
• Simplifying everyday tasks, such as controlling printer output, controlling jobs, and handling messages.
