Establish a plan for improving mechanic accountability.
Utilize Lean Manufacturing concepts for continuous improvement by leading and
promoting the leadership of others in Lean Manufacturing activities.
Coordinate with Maintenance Supervisors to ensure that area PMs and repairs are prioritized, scheduled and performed in a timely and professional manner
Lead all efforts around Environmental Compliance Guideline.
Coordinate and ensure that all mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic
equipment maintenance and repair is done in a safe and prudent manner.
Monitor the power plants controls and power distribution – ensure power
is available at all times.
Ensure that the permit to work and isolation systems are in place and
followed.
Ensure the proper implementation of the Preventive Maintenance System
(PMS).
Operate, maintain and repair as necessary the engine cooling water
system, lube oil system, and fuel system.
Maintain and repair on all pumps and valves of the
ballast system, thrusters, associated driven pumps and auxiliary
equipment.
Liaise with the marine department regarding the loading, ordering and use
of fuel, potable water, and drill water in consideration of the rig’s
stability.
Plan equipment periodic maintenance according to the PMS guidelines
and coordinate same with Maintenance Supervisor/Chief Engineer and
other department heads.
Carry out classification society surveys as part of continuous survey of
machinery.
Liaise with the Maintenance Supervisor/Chief Engineer to ensure that all
third party equipment is fit for purpose, certified, correctly installed, and maintained while on the rig.
