From October 2003 performing as Senior Mechanical Engineer in Maintenance Department of Qatar Petroleum Refinery (137,000 B.P.D capacity) , have been working at Crude Refinery and Condensate Refinery along with a Team of Engineers and Technicians. Presently working in Utilities and off sites (Oil Movements and Jetty Areas).

Always officiating as Lead Plant Engineer and as Head of Mechanical Maintenance as and when needed.
Functioning as Lead Workshop Engineer of machine shop during temporary assignment.

Responsibilities as Lead Plant Engineer

Being the one of the senior most Engineers in the Section used to assist Lead Plant Engineer on daily routine and non-routine matters on perpetual basis, leading all Engineers/Senior Engineers for their respective Tasks. Major responsibilities involve.
• Follow up daily maintenance tasks and collect overall progress of maintenance activities for the entire Plant with respective Engineer/ Senior Engineer.
• Distributing or shuffling work force into respective Areas as and when needed based on actual Load.

• B.E. (Mechanical) in the year, 1989 from NED Engineering University, Karachi.
• M.B.A (Marketing) in the year, 1994 from The International University, Karachi.

Accomplishments:
• Participated in pre-commissioning, commissioning and start-up activities of large state-of-the-Condensate Refinery plant.
• Witnessed hydrostatic/leak testing of process piping, internal inspection of pressure vessels/tanks and final alignment of rotating equipment during project phase
• Reviewed ESPIR’s (Electronic Spare Parts & Interchangeability Record) and recommended ordering of two years operational spares
• Development of maintenance procedures, checklists and philosophies.
• Specification, selection, review, inspection and commissioning of mobile/portable equipment, workshop equipment, maintenance tools.
• Resolved chronic problems of mechanical seals leakage installed in a number of centrifugal pumps, hence improved the reliability.
• Resolved a number of chronic problems associated with reciprocating compressors like capacity limitation problems, frequent failure of compressor valves, compression & rider rings, rod packing and oil wiper rings etc.
• Participated in major inspection/overhauling of multistage centrifugal pumps, multistage reciprocating pumps, centrifugal compressors, steam turbines, gear boxes, fans (cooling tower fans, induced draft fans, forced draft fans) etc.
• Conversant with the international standards & codes applicable to oil /gas & petrochemical industry such as API, ASME, ANSI, ASTM, TEMA, etc.
