Career Objective
I am recently separated and looking for a new career in any operational process production.
Professional Experience
January1981- October 2007 Shell Refinery Geelong - Operator/Control room Panelman
I have been a Refinery Process Operator/ Control Room Panelman working shiftwork at Shell for the past 26 years working mainly on the Cracker and Lube Oil Plants and have extensive experience in turnarounds, the commissioning of new plants and equipment and power generation.
I have a great deal of experience with computerised operational optimising systems as well as a working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
My trade qualification to successfully operate/optimise a 6,800t/d Residue Catalytic Cracking Unit (RCCU) is a Certificate III in Process Plant Operations (OPS) PMA30198.
I hold a current Licence to Perform High Risk Work (TO/ BA).
Over the years I have trained people in operational duties and HS&E requirements ( I have been an Operational Health and Safety Representative since 1987) and have Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.
With the recent introduction of Major Hazards Facilities (2002) licensing requirements I trained all operational personnel on how Shell was complying with these new regulations. I was also involved with the Victorian Workcover Authoritys process in taking the Major Hazards Facilities Regulations and creating the assessment framework document SCAF (Safety Case Assessment Framework) along with industry representatives and other safety specialists.
I adapt to new environments and can function both independently and as part of a team to achieve the production goals safely within a hazardous environment. Achieving good work outcomes through consultation and acceptance of other peoples ideas has been the basis of my work ethic. These are all qualities that are important to managing the process in any Major Hazards Facilities process.
