Takes care to ensure good functioning of the main engine,aux engine,bilge,ballast and engine cooling pumps,fuel supply,fuel separators,starting air compressor,emergency generator and air compressor,air foam fire fighting system,oil transfer pumps,etc

Main engine.aux engine,fuel separators,oil transfer pumps,air foam fire fighting,ballast system,bilge,cooling pumps,boiler,seawater and fresh water hydrophores,air conditioning system etc.Responsible for the starting,running and stopping of the above listed equipment,carries out the maintenance and the planned overhauling of these equipments.Supervises permanently the functioning of the equipments observing the provision of the technical operating instruction,and watching the working parameters to be maintained in normal limits.Reports any disorder or damage observed,which could endanger the security and the safe functioning of the equipment,to the direct superior;takes the proper measures to protect the equipments and depending upon the situation,to shut down and repair it.Keeps clean the equipments and the bilge of the Engine room removing any leaks of fuel,lube oil,and water.Keeps permanently all the equipments at the necessary parameters so that they could be started in any moment if the situation requires it.Take all the oil samples in the shore base for being analysed in the laboratory.Cleaning or replacing of the oil filters,checking and greasing all the pumps, responsible for the correct chemical treatment of the feed water,etc
