Analysis of the physical and chemical properties of formation cuttings to determine the classification of the subsurface rock formation, thereby aiding in the identification of pay zones. Assisting operators in determining the optimum path of drilling a directional well in order to maximize hydrocarbon reserves and well productivity. Analysis of drilling parameters to optimize drilling rates. Determining contact points of oil, water and gas in order to aid in quantifying the location of hydrocarbon reservoirs.
