Project Engineer

Work with a professionally managed organization. My qualifications and experience well suit for Senior Project Engineer’s position within the Oil&Gas, Petrochemical and Process industry.

•I have hands on experience in executing onshore pipeline projects covering various aspects such as project/ site execution, estimation and costing, quality control etc. Have involved in managing various site activities like wps/ welder qualifications in accordance with API 1104, fit-ups, pre-heating & pwht, welding control, destructive and non-destructive examinations, wrapping/ coating and holiday detection tests, pipe rack/ support installation, bedding, padding, pipe laying, excavation and back filling, thrust blocks, hydro testing, pigging and gauging, tie-ins etc.
•Experienced in preparing data sheets and purchase specifications of bought out equipment and instruments – pumps, pressure vessels, valves, control valves, transmitters, gauges, flow meters etc.
•Generate/ collate engineering deliverables and submit to client – inspection / test plan, document schedule, sub-order schedule, project plan, p&id, general arrangement drawing, E&I drawings, computer system drawings, data sheets, catalogs, Functional test procedure (FAT), IOM manual, manufacturing record book etc.
•Liaison with clients with respect to engineering submittals, organize project kick off meeting, pre-inspection meeting, progress review meeting etc, raise technical queries, obtain waiver etc.
•Commercial aspects of project management – prepare and submit techno-commercial proposals for variation scope of work, monitor budget Vs actual expenditure, cash flow, cost control etc.
•Experienced in fabrication, welding, external surface painting and internal coating of structural steel, piping, pipe lines, pressure vessels and storage tanks.
•Review/ approver sub-contractor’s quality documents – QC Plan, ITP, WPS/ PQR, Paint/ Coating Procedure, inspection reports, Final Dossier, As-built drawing etc.
•Experience in handling EPC project/ construction activities in the capacity of Project/ Site/ Quality Control Engineer
•Participate in pre-commissioning and FAT assistance of piping systems and packaged Equipmentet.

First class graduate in Mechanical Engineering (B.Tech : 1991-95) from Mahatma Gandhi University, Kerala State, India

Certified Management System (Internal) Auditor : OHSAS 18001(by Lloyds Register), ISO 9001 & ISO 14001 (by AIB Vincotte)
Welding Inspector certification from The Welding Institute UK (CSWIP 3.1)
Painting Inspector certification from British Gas Approval Services (BGAS Grade –2

•12 years’ experience ( 7 years in UAE & Oman) as Project/ Mechanical/ Quality Control Engineer in Oil& Gas, Process and Petrochemical projects.
•Sound knowledge and experience in various aspects of project execution such as project management, engineering, material sourcing and procurement, estimation, fabrication and site execution of process/ tank farm piping, pipelines and pressure vessels projects.
•Familiar with codes and standards – ASME Sec II, Sec V, Sec VIII, Sec IX, B31.3, B31.4, API 650, API 1104, BS standards etc.
•Have worked with carbon steel, low alloy steel, stainless steel and aluminium materials.
•Sound knowledge of fabrication & welding techniques, industrial painting, pipe internal coating, destructive & non-destructive testing hydro testing etc as applicable to piping, pipelines, pressure vessels, structures and package equipment projects.
•Ability to learn quickly and adapt to changing environments
•Excellent team player, capable of working under pressure & meet with deadlines with ease and efficiency
•Well versed with computer applications – MS Office
