Provide technical assistance to subcontractor supervision and engineers, and keep them informed on matters relating to quality control. Reviews and approves ITP’s, QCP’s and Method Statements of Insulation, FireProofing, Refractory and Painting. Checks adherence to approved procedures. Responsible for CONTRACTOR painting and insulation witness and hold points. Determines area priorities for Insulation, Fire Proofing, Refractory and Painting through consultation with Area Supervision. Reviews the Project Schedule and assists Construction Specialists in review of 3-week and 90-day schedules. Monitors insulation, FireProofing, Refractory and Painting work in progress on a continuing basis, and assists subcontractors with final check out prior to turnover to Pre-commissioning. Verifies installation is in accordance with all relevant IFC specifications and drawings. Final sign off on all QC check lists and ITP completion forms after final acceptance by QC Department. Assists Subcontractor Insulation Superintendent and Engineers in solving problems related to Insulation, FireProofing, Refractory and Painting. Responds to requests for information (RFIs). Issues job wide inspection criteria that may be over and above normal inspection. Reviews subcontractor field take offs from IFC drawings for reasonableness. Reviews weekly installation quantities for reasonableness. Assists with material requirements for all insulation testing equipment required for the job. Assists subcontractor Field Engineers on insulation, FireProofing, Refractory and Painting related problems to obtain vendor information, substitutions and other design related problems. Reviews design drawings for construction requirements to determine that enough information is shown for construction’s use. Spot checks equipment layouts and piping general arrangements for interference and access problems. Establishes with design office permanent materials and construction materials to be ordered by the field, establishes cut off dates for Home Office material requisitioning and issues field insulation material requisitions. Establishes jobsite procedures for documentation of COMPANY and vendor witnessing of tests. Provides technical assistance and secures necessary vendor services for mechanical completion, check out, and turnover to commissioning.
