Accident Experience: (Safety Reward)
The day 27th July 2005 is an unforgettable day in my life and I could say that it’s my second birth in BHN Platform Blast.
BHN Platform is one of the biggest platforms in Indian offshore and it’s placed in Bombay high north offshore field:
As of now BHN Platform Blast is the biggest accident took place in Indian offshore, and this major accident took place on 27th July 2005.
I am neither proud nor sad to say that I am also one among those who swam 3.5hrs in the ocean and reached the nearest Transocean Rig (Randolphyost), which had placed a 4km away from the platform exactly. I was swimming, swimming and swimming without loosing my self-confidence. With the grace of my Lord and the blessings of my parent, helped me to reach the nearest rig and they threw the rope net and saved me using crane. The OIM has rushed up and ordered them to arrange for first aid. Everybody in the rig was really taken up and congratulating me for this daring job with full safety; I had worn my lifejacket, Safety Boots properly and my Hand gloves as well. All of them took photographs with me for the daring act.
I feel that “This is a reward for my safety and self-confidence.”
