Four Years of experience in Oil and Gas Electrical Design, Construction & Pre-commissioning. Involved in numerous Offshore Campaigns for various projects executed.

Experience: From October 2004 till date working in Electrical & Instrumentation Dept. as Electrical engineer in the field of Design & Detail Engineering of Various Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) Projects.

Responsibilities:

a)Design and Detail Engineering

1. Preparation of Data sheets for electrical equipments like Sub Sea Cables, Power Transformers, Motor Control Centers, UPS, Battery Chargers, Navigational Aids, LV and MV Cables, Light Fixtures and various other Bulks.
2. Preparation of Enquiry specifications for Various Electrical equipments.
3. Vendor Document review for all electrical equipments like Sub Sea Cables, Power Transformers, Motor Control Centers, UPS, Battery Chargers, LV and MV Cables, Induction Motors, Navigational Aids and other bulk materials including Junction Boxes, Cable trays, Lighting contactors, Lighting transformers, Conduits and fittings.
4. Preparation of Single line diagrams, Control schematics, Cable routing diagrams, MCT Layout, Cable schedules, Junction Box Schedules, Hook up Diagrams, Loop Diagrams etc.
5. Preparation of Area classification Drawings (API RP 500 & 505).
6. Preparation of construction drawings including support drawings, power and grounding details, Layout drawings etc
7. Selection of equipments in compliance with standards like API RP 14F.
8. Attend the Factory witness tests for various electrical equipments pertaining to the working projects.
9. Sizing calculations including Equipment and Cable sizing.
10. Load flow, voltage drop short circuit studies using SKM Software.
11. Preparation of MTO for Bulk materials.
12. Preparation of load list and Relay coordination studies.

b) Construction/Precommissioning

1. Preparation of AFC man hour estimates for the overall Electrical scope of the project/Offshore hookup’s.
2. Preparation of Weekly progress reports/Progress monitoring for the construction activities.
3.Commissioning & Functional testing of various electrical equipments.

Technical Qualification.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering.

Year: 2000-2004, Mar Athanasius college of Engineering, Cochin, India

• Pursuing MBA from Madhurai kamaraj University

Other Qualifications
• Conversant with Codes and standards like API RP 14F, 500, 505, NFPA-70, IEC.
• Conversant with SKM software for electrical calculations.
• Hands-on experience in commissioning of majority of offshore electrical Equipments.
• McDermott representative for various factory witness tests of Equipments like UPS (Danaher power Solutions, Virginia, U.S), Motor control centers (Seneca, South Carolina, U.S).
• Offshore experience of almost 6 months.
• Has undergone all relevant offshore trainings like Sea survival, H2s, Firefighting etc.
