Additional Information
In my current position I install, commission and repair Top Drive equipment for the oil field. This is mainly a field based position working on both onshore and offshore installations. My job entails ensuring that all power control, power monitoring, rotating equipment and instrumentation is working within correct tolerances, during installation and commissioning.Repair all equipment in the field to minimize rig downtime. Whilst working in the field I organize and distribute tasks on a daily basis. Keep the client updated on work progress in person and by writing. I have to have a deep understanding of all company equipment as I have to train both operators and maintainers on client locations.
Prior to working in the oil industry I worked for the Royal Navy as a civilian contractor. I worked on complex weapons systems which were electrical/electronic and pneumatic/hydraulic. This involved all aspects of routine maintenance and also defect repair to component level. I was involved in complex modification programs up to $40million dollars which included aspects of planning and pre installation activities, which also involved reviewing all documentation and drawings to ensure continuity throughout the modification process. All of this required to have high security clearance and also involved communicating with all levels of management in the Ministry of Defense UK/US, UK Navy and US/UK contractor personnel.
