Main Responsibilities:
•Formulate and enhance the strategy and lead the IT department in implementing initiatives towards enhancing security, and improving service reliability.
•Evaluate existing technology on a regular basis to recommend changes that would increase efficiency and improve effectiveness.
•Interact with internal and external clients to ensure that a quality service is provided to end users.
•Develop strategy for new applications development.
•Review timelines and budgets for software development to find the most cost effective solution.
•Provide technologies that make it easier for users and suppliers to do business with the Municipality.
•Provide advice on evaluation, selection, implementation and maintenance of information systems.
•Oversee the development and maintenance of a disaster recovery plan.
•Responsible for the recruitment and hiring of new employees.
•Ensure appropriate training programs are in place to attract and retain employees.
