Professional Experience
• 14 years of exhaustive and indepth experience and knowledge in the various disciplines of the Instrumentation field, working with some of the leading EPC contractors and clients, at their offshore & onshore LNG plants, crude oil refinery and petrochemical plants.
• Plant Control & Safety systems include Invensys Integrated Control & Safety System (ICSS), Foxboro IA Series, Honeywell 2000 & 3000, YEW Centum and Bailey Network 90 DCS systems, GE Mark VI Controls with Toolbox, CCC S4 Antisurge Controls with WOIS Configurator, Triconex, ICS, August ESD systems, Siemens S7, Allen Bradley and Cutler Hammer PLCs, GM fire & gas detection and prevention system, Online ABB Vista chromatographic quality control analyzer systems, Baker Wellhead Control panels, etc.
• Field activities include pre-installation, installation, pre-commissioning and commissioning of smart instrumentation using HART protocol, benchmark calibration, conformity checks, soft and hard loop checks, logic and functional checks, preparing RFIs, initiating SDRs, coordination with other departments, vendor interface for Type P3 packaged units, review meetings with subcontractor engineers and supervisors etc.
Eductation
• Three years College Diploma in Electrical and Electronics Engineering in First Class from the Directorate of Technical Education, Tamilnadu, India, from a premier Polytechnic College in the year 1985.
• Secondary School Leaving Certificate from Anglo Indian Board of Examinations in First Class in 1982.
Additional Information
• Initiated and implemented numerous Site Deviation Requests (SDR) for optimizing project standards and procedures in relation to site installation, reducing manhours, cost etc.
• Prepared and implemented Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and PM schedules, and a key member of the QC team in the successful certification of ISO 9002.
• Reporting directly to Construction Manager.
• Strong in analysis and problem solving skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Well versed in instrumentation project standards, procedures and Design Engineering Practices (DEP) of major EPC contractors, familiar with international codes and standards.
• Solving of technical and non technical issues with subcontractor engineers and supervisors.
• Coordination and implementation with vendors of type P3 packaged units like GE, NP, Elliot etc.
• Trained in Management Software tools like ICAPS.
• Trained in PLC, SCADA, Gas Chromatographs and quality control programs
