Drilling Engineer

Monitors and manages rig activities on daily basis in an onshore heavy oil multilateral horizontal project over 60 well-per-year drilling schedule.

Supervises multilateral horizontal drill wells and supervises ESP and PCP completion jobs. Manages and coordinates all personnel on rig site as well as contractor’s personnel. Ensures the work is performed as per company programs and policies in a safe and efficient manner. Responsible for daily reports and transmission. Witnesses and supervises all critical and hazardous operations, to guarantee that services contractors meet company’s requirements. In charge of daily equipment logistics. Participates and promotes in hazards identification, STOP programs and “Tool-Box” meetings.

Provides both drilling and logging support at client’s office. Manages field engineers and coordinates tools logistics on daily basis.
Drilling Engineer, Schlumberger; VENEZUELA. (08-2004 – 09-2006)
Designs wellbore trajectories and analyses torque and drag, as well as, collision with nearby wells at client’s office for Multilateral Horizontal Wells in heavy oil areas. Prepares Pre-spud meetings and works closely with geologist, geophysicist and Drilling engineers.
Directional Drilling Trainee, Schlumberger; VENEZUELA. (01-2004 – 08-2004)
Theory and practice in Directional Drilling, drills deviated and horizontal wells in land rigs as third and second man. Operates Schlumberger drilling software (Drilling Office). Handles slide sheets, survey reports and End of well reports.
Field Service Engineer, Schlumberger; BRUNEI. (10-2000 – 01-2004)
Oversees and manages jobs and crewmembers at various international rigs. Coordinates pre-job, planning and job mobilization for rig operations. Operates logging tools and provides geological logging information while drilling oil wells in real time. Supervises all personnel development functions and training and mentors junior engineers. Handles End of Well Report and client deliverables. Exposed to a wide range of wells activities both onshore and offshore at various international rig sites.
