M/S Al Meer Technical Services Co. Kuwait is a contracting company in Kuwait. They are dealing with construction and maintenance contracts in all fields of engineering through out Kuwait and rest of the middle east. I joined the company in Dec 2007 as an Senior Instrument Foreman for their instrumentation and control maintenance contract with M/s Kuwait National petrochemical Company (KNPC), Mina Ahmadi Refinery, Kuwait.

I am a KNPC traind and athorised executor of jobs in the KNPC work permit authorisation system. As a senior instrument foreman, reporting to the KNPC engineer, am responsible for the maintenance activities of the Gas plant. Primary responsibilities include day to day break down and preventive maintenance of 7 Boilers, 3 trains of LPG plant.



Responsibilities:

ľ Supervise and lead a group of foremen and mechanics for day to day break down, planed shut down and preventive maintenance of Boilers and 3 Trains of LPG plant. Maintenance involves fault diagnosis and trouble shooting, calibration, installation and commissioning activities of all field instruments of equipments such as Turbine, Compressor, Pump, Heater related Instrumentation.

ľ Planing and execution of preventive and corretive maintenance and annual shut down activities in co- ordination with the operation department.

ľ Logic sequence checking, loop checking, function checks and trouble shooting of the control systems equipped with foxboro I/A series DCS , August TMR (2oo3), Triconex ESD systems

ľ Installation, calibration and trouble shooting of Machine Monitring System.(MMS) from Bently Neveda 3300 series vibration moniters.

ľ Co-ordination with the vendors and conntractors who are involved in the modification of existing systems and new projects in concerned area of the plant.

ľ Allocation of spare local JBs, spare FBMs and its points and preparation of loop wiring digrams.

ľ Analysing and preparing reports of the availability of spares and submiting necessary desk top requisitions.

ľ Familiar in Maximo system following in KNPC which involves ordering spares through direct charge/stocked items , raising purchase requisition, labour reporting etc.

Pre-Degree Course from Mahatma Gandhi University,Kerala.(1992-1994)

Diploma in Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering (3 years) First class with Honours, (78%) from State Boad of Technical Education and Training, Government of Tamil Nadu. (1994-1997

Skills & attributes

ľ Reading P&I diagrams, Loop Wiring diagrams, Interlock diagrams, cause and effect diagrams, function Logic diagrams (FLD) etc.for process plants.

ľ Having knowledge on Hazardous areas/ classifications for safe execution of jobs.

ľ Installation, loop checking, logic sequence checking, Pre commissioning and commissioning of various types of field instruments and sytems

ľ Hands on experience in all type of transmittrs for messurements like flow, perssure, temperature, level, speed, vibration and analyzers.

ľ Conventional and smart type of trnsmitters of Rosemount,Yokogava, Foxboro, ABB, Honeywell and Moor makes.

ľ Calibration of Level trols, DLC3000, DP transmitters, temperature transmitters, Mass flow meters, Flow computers, Control valves (Fisher, masoneilan,valtec. Ete.) with electo pnumatic/smart and pnumatic positioners. (DVC 6000,SVI), PH, Conductivity, Oxygen, disolved Oxygen analyzers.

ľ On- Off valves, MOVs , Switchs.

ľ Having basic computer proficiency in Ms Office, Maximo, CMMS.
