. Directs the activities of Operator and gateman on the assigned shift duty.
. Balances the operation of equipment to meet supply demand, minimizes risk to equipment and running cost.
. Identifies gas demand patterns and unforeseen changes in quantity and quality of gas availability from supplier and makes adjustments to system to ensure smooth operation and continuous gas flow to consumers.
. Oversees and ensures integrity of billing data on a daily basis and informs engineers in charge of any irregularities.
. Ensures safe work practices are adhered to under work permit conditions at the facilities, gas network and informs engineer in charge of any abnormalities.
. Approves and authorises work permits prepared by Operators for routine and non-routine maintenance/repair work, decommissioning/commissioning of machinery and equipment, including equipment preparation instructions and safety precautions to be taken.
. Maintains a comprehensive shift log itemizing system changes and alarms in chronological order, including two-hourly logging of temperatures, gas flow/consumptions and pressures.
. Monitors measured values and takes necessary corrective action on receipt of alarms.
. Makes initial diagnostic check to determine cause of equipment malfunction corrects faults if possible or contacts engineer in charge for necessary action.
. Re-establishes equipment operations or initiates automatic start-up of standby equipment or shutdown of equipment from the control room.
. Assumes complete responsibility for site security and safety outside normal working hours.
. Assesses and initiates emergency action plan in the event of a serious incident, and acts as Incident controller in the event of any emergency until engineer in charge arrives and acts as emergency log Recorder.
. Ensures a good handover from previous/next shift, reads log sheets of previous shift in the Control Room indicating temperatures, pressures, humidity, etc. To understand previous shift events, and to ensure current conditions, meet operating criteria/parameters.

1 Sonatrach (oil and gas company) specially in LNG2 (ARZEW)
2 Emergency response with RUBICON in ISG (in salah gas project).
3 DCS yokogawa cs 3000(distributed control system) in ISG (in salah gas project)
4 DCS yokogawa cs 1000(distributed control system) in M.F.O institute for one week at Hassi-Messaoud.
5 Ptw (permit to work) in ISG (in salah gas project).
