Assisten Driller

Directs the activity of the drilling floor personnel involved in various drilling activities

Directs the activity of the drilling floor personnel involved in various drilling activities
Assists in “pulling out” and “running in” drill pipe or casing and operates the elevators
Advises the Driller of any significant changes in drilling mud characteristics or mud levels and loss of circulation
Receives and follows up Driller’s instructions for the repair and maintenance of various drilling equipment such as mud mixer, shale shaker, distiller and de-sander to ensure trouble free operations
Directs the greasing, cleaning, painting and routine maintenance of all drilling equipment
Participates in the maintenance of Company’s safety regulations, procedures and promotes safe practices
Directs drifting and measuring of pipes to ensure symmetry and correct dimensions and advises the driller of any discrepancies.
Other duties carried out would be assisting in training of floor men and assisting drillers and derrick-men in rigging and working with specialist service companies
Responsibility for ensuring that all safety, quality and environmental procedures and instructions are adhered to at all times.
