Professional Experience

December 2006 Attended Maintainability Access Review and Rigging Study for Qatargas 3&4 Projects for Qatargas Liquefied Gas Company Limited. The review took place at Chiyoda Corporation in Yokohama, Japan.

August 2007 Completed a one month shutdown work experience at Shell MDS in Malaysia.

Current position: Workshop Supervisor at OLNG with the following duties and responsibilities:

1. Contribute to the reliability and integrity of the mechanical equipment and structures by the application of reliability centred techniques and work execution within an ISO certified assurance system.
2. Ensure sufficient and suitable resources and equipment are available to complete all mechanical repair work within the agreed program.
3. Initiate and develop specific mechanical repair procedures and work instructions.
4. Supervise work execution and carrying out mechanical routine jobs, trouble shooting to mechanical faults.
5. Use maintenance management systems to co-ordinate, distribute and execute work and ensure history data is entered and maintained.
6. Operate workshop machines including radial arm drills, milling machines, centre lathes, dynamic balancing machines and RV/ Control valve test benches.
7. Coach and guide Omani nationals to be fully competent and experienced mechanical technicians.
8. Introduce systems and tools to the complex that will continuously, and where possible in a step change, improve the availability of the complex.
9. Participate in Unsafe Act Audits and ensure work is carried out in accordance with complex HSE policies and procedures.
10. Responsible for coaching and transfer of knowledge to subordinates.
11. Supervise shutdowns at platform and workshop levels.
12. Give feed back of work progress to all involved parties including rotating equipment personnel, operation and head of maintenance.
13. Issue daily performance activities report and issue 3-weeks look ahead plan that is cascaded to area engineers and operations.
14. Involved in Root Cause Analysis and Reliability Cantered Maintenance meetings.
15. Responsible for service and maintenance of all sorts of mobile equipment and heavy trucks.
16. Responsible for inspection of lifting equipment and initiating of shutdown lifting plans.
17. Initiating contracts with local companies and evaluating competencies.
18. Acting Workshop Engineer during his absence.

Additional Information

My current role is Mechanical Workshop Supervisor. This involves supervising maintenance work for all static and rotating equipment to agreed schedules, procedures and standards. I am responsible for keeping records and updating history of all serviced and repaired equipment using Pacer maintenance management system and also responsible for dispatching materials for refurbishment, keeping track and giving feedback of work progress on weekly basis. In addition, I am responsible for service and maintenance of workshop mobile equipment and heavy trucks and I am an authorised mobile equipment inspector.

One of my principal accountabilities is developing and updating specific procedures, work instructions and work plans within the maintenance management system and ensure compliance by subordinates. I also maintain awareness of developments within the industry in mechanical systems and initiate changes that will improve the business. Nevertheless, I am responsible of core team contractors ensuring daily availability and distributing tasks to personnel and ensuring all necessary resources i.e. tool and consumables are provided to efficiently carryout the jobs.

I am always seen as a very committed and enthusiastic employee who is always keen to get tasks accomplished. I have worked in several shutdowns in addition to my routine jobs and I am used to busy environments and to executing quality jobs within given timeframes.
