NACE coating inspector

Currently working in a pre insulated pipe and thermoplastic pipe manufacturing company as a QC Inspector / Lab technician. The main responsibilities as follows. Ensure painting and insulation has been doing with in the scope of approved Specification, Method Statement and ITP. Overall quality control check up of the painting and insulation work done on steel pipes. Ensure calibrated instruments and equipments are using for painting work. Inspection of ambient conditions prior to blast cleaning and coating application. Inspection of surface profile and degree of cleanliness. Inspection of coating materials, storage and Monitoring mixing and thinning of paints. Inspection of surface condition prior to coating and inter coat interval. Inspection of coating equipment and wet film thickness during application. Inspection of dry film thickness using magnetic pull off gauge and electromagnetic gauge as per the method defined by SSPC-PA2. Inspection of holidays and discontinuity using high voltage and low voltage holiday detector as per RP 0188. Inspection and testing of PU insulation such as density, water absorption at elevated temperature, compressive strength, axial shear strength, cell structure, voids and bubbles as per EN 253:2003 and ASTM C 518-04. Preparation of detailed inspection reports including final inspection and conformity certificates. To co-ordinate with third party inspection companies and certification agencies. Thermoplasic Pipes:
Testing of raw materials at incoming stage for the parameters such as thermal stability, Melt flow rate, carbon black content, carbon black dispersion, pigment dispersion, density, moisture content etc. Conducting dimensional measurements and test like tensile strength and elongation test (with extensometer), Ring stiffness test, impact resistance test, longitudinal heat reversion test, hydrostatic pressure test (short term and long term), burst pressure test, melt flow rate, environmental stress crack resistance test, density test, vicat softening temperature test, thermal stability (Oxidation Induction Time) test, internal and external co-efficient of friction, Axial shear strength test, opacity test, water absorption test, compression test, flattening test, degree of cross linking (Gel content) test, volatile content test, homogeneity test etc.

· NACE Certified Coating Inspector level – 1.
· Two-year diploma in Fitter trade (NCVT)
· Computer skills: MS office, Windows, Internet and e-mail, good typing speed.
· One day training in fire fighting.
· Pre-university

Certificarion in coating inspection from NACE international, U.S.A.

Ability to plan, develop, co-ordinate and communicate. Excellent organizational skills. Knowledge of the duties, priorities, commitments, policies and programme goals to perform routine assignments. An ability to work independently, as well as a member of a team in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. Ability to use computers effectively and knowledge of the Microsoft Office programmes.
