Procurement Lead

A challenging Procurement Lead role to expand company goals and operations into leading market player.

I am a graduate from the University of Glasgow with Mechanical Engineering degree and with 13 years of offshore experience in Procurement of topside long lead critical equipment, materials and consumables. In the midst of my career progression , I was given an opportunities to procure inter-disciplinary items with increasing responsibilities and role . Initially, I started with the procurement of consumables and bulk materials and moving over to a higher value long lead critical equipment from the FEED (Front Eng Engineering Design) to planning and execution of the Project. Moreover, I have gain advanced knowledge on good and sound procurement practices, code of business conduct and applying the correct strategies and know-how for various items. Along the way, I have also upgraded myself further in gaining knowledge on Law of Contract and Law of International Trades which has granted me first hand advantages on the roles of a Procurement Lead. It has now become my interest and passion to learn more on various cases that could possibly be avoided in terms of commercial risk prior to commitment of a large scale and high value buying.
Through the projects I have involved overseas as an expatriates and working with various international clients, I have also began to appreciate that culture, language of different nationalities is important to achieve successful progression till completion of the projects. Also the management of the buyer and getting them upgraded in their skills are of prime importance as a team working together and leading them.
