Involved in various environmental management consultancies and advisory activities (environmental impact assessment and audit, environmental due diligence review, IFC/World Bank and Africa Development Bank projects’ environmental screening, carbon trading, green house gases management, corporate governance and sustainability reporting, policy and strategy formulation, social accounting and environmental accounting among others). Companies dealt with include: African Trade Insurance Agency (ATI)-where by Stephen has been carrying out environmental screening in mining projects in DRC Congo, Telecommunication projects in both Kenya and DRC, Road Construction Projects in Kenya, Grain Storage Facilities in Zambia, International (Five Star) Hotel construction project in Uganda and Real Estate projects in DRC Congo, Unilever, Sotik tea. Other Homegrown, Sher Agencies, KenGen (A power generation company that is having a carbon trading project, where carbon emissions shall be reduced by exploiting the less polluting geothermal wells in the East Africa Great Rift Valley), Crown Berger, IDB Capital, Kenya Pipeline Company Ltd, Kenya National Environment Trust Fund and Windsor Golf Hotel and Country Club.

He has also been involved in various training on natural resource management for example waste management, occupational health and safety in industries and commercial enterprises. He has also organized and participated in various forums that have been addressing sustainable development ideals for example; UN climate change conference in Nairobi, Launching of Eco-Schools in Kenya, CSR and Climate Change Conference organized by DANIDA and UNDP, Submissions to the Kenya National Budget Preparation Committee on greening the county’s budget, Launching of environmental related books for primary schools and secondary schools in Kenya and assisted in organizing various world environment day events. Stephen has also been instrumental in contributing and organizing the national debates on post budget analysis (mostly focusing on greening the fiscal instruments articulated in the Eastern Africa Budgets)

Bachelor of Environmental Science – Second Class Honors (Upper Division), Diplomas in Geographical Information System, GPS and Remote Sensing, and Information Technology. Has vast training in ISO standards like (ISO 14001, ISO 9001 & ISO 18001)
He is registered as a Lead Environmental Impact Assessment and Audit Expert, with Kenya National Environment Management Authority (NEMA)

He is Certified as a Lead Environmental Health and Safety Expert with Kenyan ,National Environmenal Management Authority (NEMA)

1. Global Spatial Data Infrastructure Association - GSDI
This is an association of organizations, agencies, firms, and individuals from around the world. The purpose of the organization is to promote international cooperation and collaboration in support of local, national and international spatial data infrastructure developments that will allow nations to better address social, economic, and environmental issues of pressing importance.

2. FRAME Program Network
FRAME program, is a network of natural resource management (NRM) professionals and its aim is to help NRM practitioners and decision makers to access and use the existing body of knowledge on successful NRM experiences. The program’s two main goals are to:
a) Foster discussion on emerging trends in environmental and natural resource management across disciplinary and geographical boundaries, and
b) To provide timely and relevant information on innovative and strategic options to address these issues.
Over the years, Stephen has contributed into the various studies aimed at demonstrating the importance of sound natural resource management for achieving national strategies related to increasing economic growth, reducing poverty and strengthening corporate governance.
