Mechanical (Maintenance) Fitter / Machinist

To be gainfully employed within my field of experties either on a permanent or contract basis.

In 1989, joined Corobrik Natal. Served Fitter and Turner Apprenticeship with Central Workshops until 1992 when contract expired. During this period obtained N3 Certificate in Engineering Theory.

In 1992, joined Aserma Manufacturing (Pty) Limited. Employed as a Fitter and Turner / Machinist in the Tool Room. During this period, was transferred to the Machine Shop - employed as a Setter / Supervisor until contract expired in 1993.

In 1993, joined Natal Die Casting. Employed as a Fitter and Turner / Machinist in the Tool Room until March 2003 when the Company Liquidated unexpectedly. During this time with Natal Die Casting, was requested to step in as Acting Foreman / Supervisor in the Tool Room during a transition period.

In July 2003, joined Frame Textile Group, Denim Division. Employed as the Mechanical Fitter (Maintenance Fitter) in charge of maintaining, repairing and servicing numerous machinery for example – Packing Machinery, Washing Machine and Dryers, Sperotto Finishing, Indigo Dying Range, Overhead Suction and Rolling Tables etc. Often called upon to assist with other divisions for example Weaving Plant, Indigo Division etc. Left Frame Textile in December 2005.

In January 2006, joined Astra Pak. Employed as a Mechanical (Maintenance) Fitter / Machinist, responsible for maintaining, repairing and servicing numerous machinery for example – Packing, Extrusion, Printing and Bagging Machinery. Also required to manufacture parts for various machinery. Left Astra Pak in March 2007.

In April 2007 I became self-employed. My main function is General Engineering including manufacturing of parts for various clients and maintaining, repairing and servicing numerous machinery including Industrial rollers and dyes etc. I am currently performing this function.
