Senior Mechanical Engineer, AMEC Berca Indonesia, Jakarta, Indonesia, 2007 to present
AMEC Berca Indonesia is a joint venture between the UK based international engineering company AMEC, and Indonesia’s CCM group. The Sakhlin II project involves engineering support for construction of two offshore drilling platforms in Russia.
• Re-design of diesel fuel system for power turbines including pumps, heater and filtration.
• Vibration problem with firewater pumps.
• Installation of positive displacement pumps.
• Troubleshooting of a glycol heating system used for space heating.
• HVAC system design for offshore platforms.
• Use of HYSYS for hydraulic calculations and basic process simulation.
• Other equipment included turbines, diesel generators, diaphragm pumps, fire seals, hoists, winches, padeyes, Stabmaster.

Mechanical Design Engineer, Waha Oil Company, Tripoli, Libya, 2003 to 2007
Waha Oil Company is jointly owned and managed by Conoco-Phillips, Amerada Hess, Marathon Petroleum and the National Oil Company of Libya.
• Installation of vertical and horizontal pumps, rotary meters, meter prover.
• Fuel gas supply systems for power turbines, involved fired heaters, filter/separators.
• Design duties and project management duties.
• API 610 for centrifugal pumps and API 682 for mechanical seals.
• Used HYSYS for process modeling.
• Some HVAC work.

Mech. Design/Appl. Engineer, Weatherford Global Compression, Calgary, Canada, 1994 to 2001
Weatherford Global Compression (now Exterran) is a packager of reciprocating natural gas compressors, approximately 100hp to 6000hp in size.

Mechanical Design Engineering Position:
• Design of gas process and utility systems for natural gas compressors.
• Selected components such as manual valves, control valves, pumps, heat exchangers, transmitters, RTD’s, thermocouples, switches and gauges.
• Designed structural and rotating systems.
• Designed pressure vessels and pipingto ASME codes.
• Researched rectangular flange design.
• Developed a procedure to design nozzles for pressure vessels.
• Designed standard intake and exhaust systems.
• Performed troubleshooting of field operational problems.

Applications Engineer Position:
• Selected equipment for quotations.
• Reviewed many customer specifications.
• Solicited quotations from suppliers.

Eductation

B.Sc. Mechanical Engineering, University of Calgary, Calgary, Canada, Graduated in 1993
• Overall GPA of 3.29 (4.00). Dean’s List. Approximate class standing was fourth out of 70 students.
• Awarded Pearson Memorial Bursary and Trans-Alta Bursary for outstanding academic achievement.
• Completed two graduate level natural gas processing courses that included instruction on using HYSYS process simulation software.
• Completed an undergraduate course on Finite Element Analysis in the winter of 2003. This course included two projects using ANSYS version 6.

Certification

• Registered with the Alberta Professional Engineers Geologists and Geophysicists Association (APEGGA).
• Member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME). On the Board of Directors of the Southern Alberta Section of the ASME in 2002-03.
