Human Resource Manager

With an extensive and diverse exposure along with experience of a mixed profession, my ambition is to take an overseas employment in a lead position in Human Capital related professions.

Specialized in HR practice, with extensive experience in Human Resource Management, Labor Administration, Sales and Marketing, Project Management and Event Management as well. Formulated HR policies for many Government Ministries and places I have worked for.

Worked for Hospitality industry in Maldives for Villa Hotels, a chain of 7 Island Resorts in addition to serving the government as a member of Advisory Committee on development of Tourism in the Maldives.

Have had the experience of overseas employment for two years, as Chairman / Managing Director of STO Lanka Pvt Ltd. Main function was develop the Tea business in Sri Lanka and position the company in the world Tea market, and work as overall in-charge of the company.

In the area of development, have contributed expertise to different sectors of the Government, initiating inventive and innovative ideas, that include Human Resource Development, public Information, Community Development, Labor administration, General Management & administration, Project Management, Event Management & formulation of the HR, Marketing & Business development plans for State Trading Organization Plc.

I am a highly optimistic professional, who believe the two factor theory of Fredrick Herzberg, who emphasizes in reward, and takes positive action to motivate employees. I always seek challenges in my occupation, which effectively utilizes my professional experience.

I have worked in different departments of State Trading Organization Plc,(STO) Male’, Maldives, the largest business establishment in the country, as Director in-charge of HRM, General Management & Administration, Research and Marketing, Credit Sales, Legal and Island Retail Sales.

I have had the experience of overseas employment for two years, while I was posted in Sri Lanka as Chairman/Managing Director of STO Lanka Private Limited, a sister company of STO Male’ formed to develop a tea business and run the STO Tea Garden, a 325 Acre Tea Estate owned by STO and situated in Maskeliya, Sri Lanka. On international exposure I have been to 35 countries covering all continents of the world on official visits and twice to Makkah for pilgrimage.

I have spent most of my career to develop the labor sector of the government of Maldives by initiating the draft of countries first labor law and other important developmental activities, including Maldives membership to ILO.

I have worked in different advisory committee’s, as a member, appointed by the government to advise on the development of different areas at policy level. I have visited all 200 inhabited islands of Maldives twice, in relation to community development projects.In addition I have been to 35 countries, on official and personal trips.
